Welcome to PlateUp. We’re here to bring good food, simple cooking and helpful inspiration into your everyday life. Before you dive into our recipes, meal ideas and content, please take a moment to read these Terms of Service. By using PlateUp, you’re agreeing to follow these rules.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or services.

1. Who We Are

PlateUp is operated by AHEADOFTHEHERD LIMITED, registered in England and Wales (Company No. 07660516).

2. Who Can Use PlateUp

PlateUp is intended for consumers aged 18 and over.
We do not knowingly allow users under 18 to access our services or subscribe to our email content.

3. Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using PlateUp (including downloading recipe cards, subscribing to emails, or browsing our website), you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them.

We recommend saving a copy for reference.

5. Changes to These Terms

Continuing to use PlateUp after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

6. Access to PlateUp

For now, users access PlateUp through email sign-ups and recipe downloads. You do not need to create an account.

Some content may be free, and some may be paid in future (for example, recipe packs or premium plans). We will always make it clear when payment is required.

We reserve the right to modify or withdraw any feature, recipe or service without notice.

7. Your Use of Our Content

Everything you see on PlateUp—including recipes, photos, text, PDFs, graphics, videos and layouts—is the property of AHEADOFTHEHERD LIMITED unless otherwise stated.

You may:

✔ Use recipes and content for personal use only
✔ Download recipe cards for your own kitchen and cooking

You may not:

✘ Copy, republish, or redistribute our content elsewhere
✘ Upload or share PlateUp recipes on other websites, apps, social media pages or publications
✘ Use PlateUp content for commercial purposes without written permission
✘ Train artificial intelligence or machine-learning systems using PlateUp content
✘ Create derivative products using our recipes, images or meal plans

8. No Scraping or Automated Access

To protect our writers, chefs, creators and intellectual property, you must not:

Use any robot, bot, crawler, scraper or automated tool to extract, collect or analyse PlateUp content or data
Attempt to bypass technical protections
Use PlateUp content to train AI systems or models
Carry out text-or-data mining for commercial or analytical purposes

We reserve all rights under UK copyright law and may block or restrict access, suspend services, or pursue legal action if these rules are breached.

This clause is an explicit reservation of rights for the purposes of Article 4(3) of the UK Copyright and Digital Copyright Directive.

9. Linking to PlateUp

You are welcome to link to our website as long as you:

Do so fairly and legally
Do not harm PlateUp’s reputation
Do not suggest endorsement where none exists

We may request removal of a link at any time.

10. Paid Products and Purchases

PlateUp may offer paid content or digital products, such as recipe packs, premium tools, or special plans.

Where purchases are made:

Prices will be clearly displayed
Payments will be handled via secure third-party processors
Digital products are delivered immediately and therefore non-refundable unless required by law

Full terms for paid products will appear at the point of purchase.

11. Recipe Accuracy & User Responsibility

We work hard to ensure our recipes are accurate, tested, and reliable. However:

Ingredients, cooking results and variations may differ
Dietary needs and preferences vary between individuals
You must use your own judgement when preparing food

PlateUp is not responsible for outcomes, results or any issues arising from following a recipe.

12. No Medical or Nutritional Advice

PlateUp does not provide medical, nutritional or dietary advice. All recipes, meal plans, calorie estimates and cooking information are for general information only and are not a substitute for advice from a qualified health professional.

If you have any health conditions, allergies or dietary concerns, you must consult a qualified professional before making any changes to your diet.

13. Safety, Security & Viruses

Please do not misuse PlateUp or introduce harmful code.
We cannot guarantee the website is free from bugs or viruses, and your device security is your responsibility.

14. Email Communications and Affiliate Links

When you download a recipe card or subscribe, you give express consent for PlateUp to contact you by email.

We may send:

Newsletters
New recipe alerts
Offers, including products recommended by PlateUp
Affiliate recommendations
Information about new PlateUp features

PlateUp may earn commission if you purchase through certain links.
This does not affect the price you pay.
Where possible, we aim to recommend products because they’re useful, not because of commission.

PlateUp occasionally links to external sites or products. We are not responsible for the content, safety or accuracy of third-party websites and cannot guarantee their availability.

16. Our Liability

PlateUp is provided “as is” for general cooking inspiration.

We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or fraud).

However, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for:

indirect or consequential losses
recipe outcomes or personal cooking results
loss of data, revenue or opportunity
issues caused by third-party platforms

Your use of PlateUp content is at your own discretion and risk.

17. Termination

We may suspend or restrict access to PlateUp at any time if:

You breach these Terms
You attempt to scrape or misuse the site
You use PlateUp content commercially without permission

You may unsubscribe from emails at any time via the link provided in each email.

18. Transfer of Rights (If PlateUp Is Sold)

If PlateUp or AHEADOFTHEHERD LIMITED is ever sold, acquired, merged or transferred:

All rights and obligations under these Terms will transfer to the new owner
Your use of PlateUp may continue uninterrupted
The new owner will honour these Terms (unless updated later)

This clause ensures PlateUp remains easy to acquire, operate and continue.

These Terms and any related disputes are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
You agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction.
